Prison Ministry

Prison Ministry

In 2005 – 2006, God opened the door to begin preaching in the chapel services at the Wilkes Correctional Center. Since that time, He has continued to open doors of opportunity for us in that facility.

We now offer inmates correspondence courses free of charge through CGBBC and have seen a good number of the men take advantage of the opportunity. There have also been a number of men saved by the grace of God and others strengthened in their walk with the Lord through this ministry.

We could not have made such progress without the assistance of, now retired, Chaplain Jerry Pinkerton. Brother Pinkerton is a precious man of God who has a sincere love for the Lord and genuine concern for the spiritual well-being of each inmate. Through the volunteer program, we have over a dozen individuals from our church who participate in the chapel services. Most of these are through the support of our preachers and counselors at the meetings, though some assist in leading singing.

Our prayer is that God keeps the door of opportunity open for many years to come through this ministry.

We also have a ministry at the Alexander Youth Detention Facility, led by our Children’s Pastor, Stan Hostetter, with the help of Brother J.D. Anderson and Brother Bradley Warren.
